About Us

Our Story

Welcome to the Woodstock Music Shop, your local hub for all things music. Nestled in the heart of Woodstock, NY, we are an independently owned music retail store with a passion for sound and a commitment to our community.

OUR OFFERINGS

We carry a diverse range of instruments, music accessories, percussion, and electronics. But what sets us apart is our extensive collection of over 10,000 vinyl records (and you can quote us on that!). From classic rock and indie to jazz, hip-hop, and folk, our collection is as diverse as the music world itself.

Our Services

In addition to our retail offerings, we provide on-site repairs for guitar set-up and electronics, as well as off-site repairs for more complicated jobs. We believe that every instrument has a story to tell, and we’re here to ensure that your story continues to be told.

Our People

Jennifer Harrigfeld

Hailing from the metro Washington DC area with a background in costume design and theater, we were lucky enough that Jenn ventured north. We are even luckier she decided to stick around! Regularly fusing creative and entrepreneurial magic as the co-owner of the Woodstock Music Shop, she has brought us awesome stuff like vinyl record art, record store days, and an unrivaled disposition!

Jeff Harrigfeld

Give him music, an instrument, equipment, or a tool, and you might be forgiven if you think Jeff invented it himself. In addition to being the co-owner of the Woodstock Music Shop, Jeff is an accomplished music engineer, can seemingly play any instrument he touches, and may have been born clutching drumsticks. So confident are we in Jeff’s musical prowess and expansive knowledge, we are willing to bet (on his behalf and without his consent) that he may be part musical AI.

Veronica Fannin

Hudson Valley artist and self-proclaimed “geek at heart,” Veronica Fannin, has been lending her skills and aesthetic sensibilities to the Woodstock Music Shop. Working across mediums, Vern has authored books, created videos including a sweet music video!, and is keenly aware of how well wordplay and humor go together! I’m not sure how we got lucky enough to poach her, but she is to be kept at all costs!

Andrew Horvitz

When not wearing his professor costume and teaching the youth about all things sociology, Andrew Horvitz enjoys lending his (non-artistic) talents to the Woodstock Music Shop. A lifetime ago, he was a radio DJ where he met Jeff and his titanic vinyl collection. He stuck around long enough to convince Jenn to let him write silly things on the WMS website. While you wouldn’t want to hear him play anything, he may, from time to time, suggest a decent band to listen to.

Bobby Weiss

Bobby Weiss is a Ramones-loving, Vapors-swooning, metal-vibrato-rocking, director, musician, and production manager at Rock Academy. When not doing that he’s also a Sunday Funday rock star at W+MS, a Record Store Day line gold medalist (several years running), and a friend to all. If you’re looking for music wisdom, Bobby is your guy. He’ll happily share his knowledge so your next record is your favorite.

Eric Squindo

Eric Squindo is the hero we all need whether we deserve him or not. When the call goes out for that hand, Eric is there to lend one. The other he keeps on a guitar. We are lucky he does. While we can’t force you, it’s a good idea to check out his EP. You can thank us later. As the namesake and guiding force of Eric Squindo Presents, he knows a thing about putting on a show. Did we mention he’s ALSO the GOAT of record pricing?
