The town that inspired the name

When you hear the name “Woodstock” your mind may conjure images of the world famous 1969 Woodstock Music Festival. What many don’t know is that there have been several Woodstock Festivals, and none, including the 1969 Festival, took place Woodstock, NY. In fact, the first “Woodstock” Festivals highlighting art and music can be traced to the beginning of the 20th century. Still, all of the festivals sharing the name “Woodstock”, can be traced back to the town in the Hudson Valley of New York.

With famous recording studios in an around town like Big Pink, Dreamland, or Bearsville Woodstock’s musical legacy is monumental. There, artists like Bob Dylan, The Band, and others would record some of their most famous albums.
