The Legacy of The Band and “Stage Fright”

From their humble beginnings in a little pink house to their monumental performance at The Last Waltz, The Band has been a cornerstone in the history of rock and roll. Their third album, “Stage Fright,” was recorded right here at the Woodstock Playhouse in 1970. Featuring timeless hits like “The Shape I’m In,” “W.S. Walcott Medicine Show,” and the title track “Stage Fright,” the album has become a classic in the Americana genre. The album’s unique blend of country, blues, rock, and folk has influenced countless musicians and remains a staple in the annals of American music.

The THE BAND Band: Keeping the Spirit Alive

The THE BAND Band is the only nationally touring tribute dedicated exclusively to replicating The Band’s music with astonishing accuracy. Co-founder Gary Solomon has a personal connection to “Stage Fright,” making this performance a full-circle moment for him and the band. Solomon recalls receiving the album as a 13th birthday gift and how it ignited his lifelong passion for The Band’s music.
